PRE PURCHASE SURVEY are strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel. This comprehensive survey includes an out of water inspection and a sea trial. Such aspects such as the electrical, propulsion, fuel, navigation & onboard systems are examined. Surveys also detail structural integrity, cosmetic appearance and overall maintenance. INSURANCE SURVEYS are performed so that insurance companies can determine whether or not a vessel is an acceptable risk. Insurers are interested in structural integrity and safety for the vessel's intended use, her crews & eventual passengers. They also need to establish the vessel's fair market value. APPRAISAL INSPECTIONS are undertaken to gather sufficient information to determine and justify the vessel's fair market value. Surveys of this nature are necessary for financing, donations, loans, legal cases and estate settlements. DAMAGE INSPECTIONS report on the nature, cause and extent of casualties and/or damage suffered, in the case of collisions, contacts, fire, mechanical failure, weather damage etc. |
